What do you do in a typical tennis lesson?
1-1 Private Lesson: Lesson structure varies on your level. While beginners learn the basics with lots of repetition, more advanced players do lot of repetition and live-ball drills. Strategy and tactics are discussed. Be ready to work hard since there is no one to take turns with!
2 to 3 players sharing the lesson: Similar to private lesson but also includes focus on hitting with your lesson partner in a real game-like situations while I analyze your game and teach you strategy and how to play smarter tennis.
3 or more players: Drills will be high intensity to maximize time on court. There will be focus on defense, neutral and offensive game situations.
Q: I have a friend who wants to take lessons with me, is that ok?
Lessons are typically 1 hour long. If requested, they can be scheduled in a half hour or additional half hour increments.
Q. What equipment do I need to bring with me to take lessons?
All you need to bring is a tennis racquet, workout clothes, a bottle of water, and a towel (if you sweat a lot). We provide all other necessities such as tennis balls.
Q. What should I eat before a lesson?
It is important to be well fueled and hydrated before a lesson. You should be familiar with the meal you're going to consume to assure ease with digestion. A light snack or fruit before a lesson. A full meal a couple hours before is also recommendable. Hydrate the night before, during, and after your lesson. Same applies to match play.
Q. What are the weather and cancellation policies?
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Regardless of the length of the lesson actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your instructor and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.

Recreational tennis is on the rise across the country. The sport gets you moving and on average, a player burns 300-600 calories for every hour played. Besides the workout, tennis brings you new friends, intense or casual competition, mental stimulation, and the opportunity to have fun outdoors.
Q. How do I choose a racquet?
Before you run to a sports mega store and buy any racquet, hear us out. Racquets range in weight, head size, grip size, balance and overall quality. There are hundreds of racquets to choose from and choosing the right one will make a difference on the court. We recommend asking a professional, visiting a tennis specialty store and tell them about your athletic ability, playing style (if applicable), and get your hand measured. Most stores will even let you take racquets home to demo.
